Meta Unveils New Ray-Ban Meta Audio and Gen 3 AI Glasses

Meta is doubling down on smart glasses. At Connect 2026, the company introduced the Ray-Ban Meta Audio and Ray-Ban Meta (Gen 3), giving users two different ways to use AI, audio and hands-free features without constantly reaching for their phones.

Ray-Ban Meta Audio: AI glasses without the camera

The biggest difference with the new Ray-Ban Meta Audio is what it doesn’t have, a camera. Instead, Meta is positioning these as audio-first smart glasses that combine open-ear speakers, microphones and Meta AI in a traditional Ray-Ban frame. Users can listen to music and podcasts, make calls and interact with Meta AI completely hands-free.

Weighting around 43 grams, the Audio glasses are also Meta’s lightest and slimmest AI glasses yet. They feature an adjustable temple tips, interchangeable nose pads and overextension hinges for a more comfortable fit. Meta says the glasses can provide up to 12 hours of use on a single charge, with the included charging case providing up to another 48 hours.

The Ray-Ban Meta Audio comes in Clubmaster and Burbank designs, with 23 color and lens combinations and support for a range of prescription options. Pricing starts at $349, with shipments scheduled to begin October 13 in markets where they’re available.

Ray-Ban Meta (Gen 3): More camera, more battery

For users who want the full smart-glasses experience, there’s the Ray-Ban Meta (Gen 3). The third-generation model gets a slimmer design, adjustable temple tips and a new customizable action button that provides quick access to Meta AI or another selected function. Battery life has also been increased to up to nine hours, that’s an hour longer than the previous generation.

The glasses retain their built-in camera, but Meta has upgraded it to a 12-megapixel camera and is capable of recording 3K Ultra HD videos. There’s also a new Dynamic Photos feature that captures multiple frames, giving users the option to pick the best shot afterward.

For calls and voice commands, the Gen 3 uses a six-microphone array designed to reduce background noise, while Meta is also planning Dolby Atmos and 360-degree spatial audio capture for its AI glasses later this year.

The Gen 3 lineup comes in Aviator, Zena and Wayfarer styles, with 27 color and lens combinations. Pricing starts at $449.
