Kodak to unveil a new smartphone on October 20

Kodak has something for us before the year ends and it’s something of asmartphone device, in fact it’s Kodak’s second attempt to capture user’s interest from this saturated mobile market. The mobile ecosystem continues to surge with smartphone devices from different manufacturers and in different sizes and fitting oneself tend to be a hit and miss. We’ll there’s nothing wrong from coming back and it seems that everyone deserves a second chance and for that Kodak (or at least the brand name) is taking a step to secure a spot in the market.

So on October 20 as the teaser image claims, the once top-dog in imaging and print will introduce a new smartphone device under the Kodak brand. The image above showed a metallic side with a knob that has the famous Kodak logo on top, other than that, it doesn’t say anything else. Some have speculated that this might be the device’s power button but other gave a practical guess about the matter that it might just be a dedicated camera key which now tend to make more sense as expected for something of a Kodak device would be.

Though the first generation Kodak IM5 has something that it claimed to have including ways to easily edit and print photos from its 13 Megapixel shooter, that just didn’t won everyone’s hearts and with this second attempt to make a spot needs a little more than just imaging. Different from a few years ago where mobile imaging is like a circuit race to becoming the number one, today world are full of users that aren’t really fixed to a specific feature but rather on a feature-rich device that offers more. So besides an image-centric handset, Kodak will have to offer a more reliable system, up-to-date hardware and an aesthetically desirable design for users to recognise a new comer.
