Towards the end of 2016, we’ve seen Nokia coming back to life with a promise to bring out an exceptional devices in the Android market and we could see that the company is currently gunning for the high-end market. We’ve witness the launch of the Nokia 6, a fairly midrange device and a number of follow ups at MWC 2017 with the Nokia 5 and Nokia 3. These three latest smartphone devices from Nokia are all targeted on the mass market from the lower-end and mid-end segments.

We’ve waited for HMD to unleash a high-end Nokia device at MWC but we failed to see them doing that. A bit frustrated, but fans like us are patiently waiting for a high-end device to make its appearance, there were numerous speculations and renders of what could be the first high-end Android-powered Nokia device but not seems to be a candidate for a genuine of prospected piece, in fact, we aren’t really sure what the future high-end Nokia device would look like.

However, we got a little tip from a numerous number of sources that may be close with someone from the company which says that there were a number of factors involve for HMD not to unveil their high-end device, one was the fact that HMD doesn’t have access to Snapdragon 835, the latest high-end chipset from Qualcomm and the other one would be that HMD is injecting a number of lower-end devices in the market to see what the Nokia brand still has with customers, indeed, when HMD launched the Nokia 6 in China, the units went sold out in seconds and the follow-up to that ends up all the same.

With a high demand for Nokia device, even the feature phone 3310 remake has been sold out in its pre-order, HMD has no reason to delay a much more capable and powerful device. That’s the good news right there as HMD seem to recognize its consumer demand for the Nokia brand and that the company may release their first high-end devices in as early as June this year. There will be a special event and announcement coming in June and we are highly anticipating for the first true Nokia flagship to be unveiled.

So far, we have speculations on the specs and what we saw is this: The upcoming high-end Nokia device will be housed in a full-metal unibody design (somewhat similar to the latest Nokia-branded devices that was recently announced), then it will be available in two different screen sizes, there will be a smaller and a larger handset and will come with 4GB or 6GB of RAM respectively. Both variants will be powered by the same Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor which really is cream of the crop chipset for upcoming devices.

In addition to that, the upcoming Nokia handset is also said to come equipped with a dual camera setup with at least a 23 Megapixel sensor behind the lens. The source also noted that it’s unclear if the dual camera setup with feature a dual lens as well or not, what seems to be definite at this point though is that it won’t feature either Zeiss Optics or PureView Technology in them but that doesn’t mean it won’t take good pictures are what old Nokia had, probably takes on a different approach perhaps.

At this point, pricing is still in question for the anticipated handset but as rumor has it, the smaller handset maybe price at around $510 in China while the larger one would go around $650. That’s not the definitive figures there as HMD has the last word on the matter, but judging from what early report has, these upcoming high-end Nokia flagship device might just be more affordable that what existing flagship devices from other brands has at the moment.
