ZTE isn’t as popular as other Chinese-made devices here in the Philippines but the company has been with mobile devices for so long already. One of their most popular line of devices is the Nubia series and they are just as popular as Xiaomi, Huawei, Oppo Vivo and basically as most smartphone manufacturer there is.

The latest is the new Nubia Play 5G. It’s a brandnew 5G smartphone from the company and is its second device with 144Hz display. This makes the new phone as the affordable alternative to the Nubia Red Magic 5G – a gaming phone device.

And so it has a 6.65-inch Full-HD+ AMOLED display and not only that it has a 144Hz refresh rate but also 240Hz touch response rate making it ideal for gaming. It doesn’t have a notch or a punch hole at all as ZTE figured it to place the front camera on a more practical top bezel.

The Play 5G is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 765G and is coupled to either 6GB or 8GB of LPDDR4X RAM. Its storage is either a 128GB or a 256GB internal storage memory.

As it’s a gaming smartphone device, it features an In-display fingerprint scanner and pretty much include the best thing you’ll need on a gaming device and that is liquid cooling, DTS Audio and of course Shoulder Triggers.

Games these days mostly relies on online connectivity and to make that easy, the handset supports 3G and LTE in addition to its 5G capabilities. Aside from that, it also has WiFi 6, Bluetooth and GPS with A-GPS function.

For imaging, the Play 5G has a quad camera module on the back that houses a 48 Megapixel Sony IMX582 primary sensor with a f/1.7 aperture lens and a 8 Megapixel with Ultra Wide Angle lens. The two remaining sensors are its 2 Megapixel dedicated macro shooter and a 2 Megapixel Depth sensing camera. On the front, you’ll get a 12 Megapixel Selfie shooter with an f/2.0 aperture lens.

The new Nubia Play 5G runs on 5100 mAh embedded battery with 30W PD charging support and boots Android 10 with NubiaUI 8.0 out of the box.

The new handset will be available in China beginning April 24 and is priced at CNY2.400 for the 6GB/128GB model, CNY2.700 for the 8GB/128GB and CNY3.000 for the 8GB/256GB variant.
