Xiaomi discreetly launched a refined version of the Redmi AirDots with the new Redmi AirDots S in China. The wireless earbuds has retained the entire profile of the first Redmi AirDots and basically are identical up to the last millimeter.
So what’s change on the AirDots S? Xiaomi offer a new mono sound output mode option which basically splits the two earbuds as separate receivers. This could also happen on the older generation AirDots if they get messed up on pairing but this time, there’s already an option to make it work that way.

Xiaomi also claimed that the new Redmi branded AirDots S has a better sound transmission rates despite that both the old and this new AirDots S uses the same Bluetooth 5.0 connectivity.
With the new AirDots S, Xiaomi adds a new Game Mode feature which enables low-latency for lesser audio lags. The rest of the features are brought in directly from the original Redmi AirDots which includes a DSP noise cancelling and a single press action for accept/end calls or pause/play music.

A fully charged Redmi AirDot S earbuds has up to 4 hours of music listening and up to 12 hours on a fully charged case. It also has an IPX4 certification for sweat and splash resistance and is one of the lightest TWS you can find around at just 4.1 grams each earbud.
Xiaomi sells the new Redmi AirDots S in China for CNY 99 or just under $15. International availability is likely to follow later.
