Xiaomi’s new and even more affordable Mi 8 series launched, the new Mi 8 Lite

In addition to the new Mi 8 Pro, Xiaomi also introduced a more affordable in the Mi 8 series with the newly announced Mi 8 Lite. Unlike the Mi 8 SE, the Mi 8 Lite is a lot larger with a quarter of an inch taller and a larger display, however it uses an IPS LCD panel to save cost in production.

The new handset comes with a tall 6.26-inch display having a 1080p screen resolution with 19:9 Aspect ratio. A notch on top of the display is present and it houses the earpiece, a few sensors and the front-facing camera.

Taking about the camera, the front-facing camera on the Mi 8 Lite is a 24 Megapixel sensor and should do fairly enough for your Selfies and ultimately video calls from friends and family. On the back of the device, you’ll have a dual camera sensor that comprises of a 12 Megapixel main shooter and a 5 Megapixel depth sensor, the one responsible for your lovely bokeh and such. The rest of the features comes as standard and includes: Dual SIM functionality with 4G LTE and VoLTE support, high-speed Wi-Fi, USB-C interface, Bluetooth 5.0 and GPS.

The new Mi 8 Lite will be available in these color options: Aurora Blue, Sunset Gold and Midnight Black. Prices starts at CNY 1,400 for the 4GB/64GB option then CNY 1,700 for the 6GB/64GB and CNY 2,000 for the top-end model with 6GB/128GB configuration.
