Pocophone or simple Poco is one of the most popular smartphone brand in the world with its flagship specs in a flagship killer price. Xiaomi launched the brand in 2018 in India as a sub-brand for its mid-range devices but the attention of the world was easily caught up with how its first device was built.

Xiaomi hasn’t really put a major update to the line-up which worried fans that the company would abandon the brand altogether in favor of Redmi, another sub-brand of Xiaomi. There’s a few minor updates in its first device the Poco F1 after several months in the market but fans were still not convinced then.
Before 2019 ended, Xiaomi filed a patent trademark for the Pocophone F2 which excites many fans and individuals familiar with Pocophone.
As we await for the arrival of the Poco F2, the latest development for the Pocophone series will excite users and fans even more as Xiaomi India CEO Manu Khumar Jain has confirmed that the Poco brand is now independent from Xiaomi and that from here on, it will be operating on its own.
Much like Redmi, Poco will have its own development and research team and will have its own marketing for their future devices. Despite its independence from Xiaomi, existing and future customers will always be associating Poco with Xiaomi much like we do on other brands that’s somehow connected with Xiaomi.
The news also leads to suggest that the Poco F2 release is imminent. Are we excited?
