Xiaomi Mi 10 series goes global

A month after it’s launched in China, Xiaomi brought the company’s latest flagship device the Mi 10 series to its global customers. The launched was done in Europe and like everybody else, the event went online due to the current lockdown and quarantine situation imposed around europe.

The global Xiaomi Mi 10 series variants are of the same genes as its Chinese variants with the primary difference being that the global versions of these units comes with Google apps and services built-in and doesn’t have those Chinese consumer specific bloatwares.

The new Xiaomi Mi 10 series comes in two primary flagship variants: The Mi 10 and the Mi 10 Pro. In addition to that, Xiaomi also introduced a Mi 10 Lite in the mix to reach out more consumers.

Mi 10 and the Mi 10 Pro

Both flagship devices shares the same display size at 6.67-inch of AMOLED screen with a single punch hole for the front-facing 20 Megapixel camera. It also comes with an in-display fingerprint sensor and features 90Hz refresh rates.

Under the shell, the flagship Xiaomi Mi 10 and the Mi 10 Pro is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 chipset and comes with X55 5G modem. It comes with up to 12GB of RAM and its storage is set to top at 256GB.

In terms of connectivity, we’ve mentioned 5G already and in addition to that, it also includes the new WiFi 6 protocol, Bluetooth 5.1, NFC, Infrared and a USB-C connector.

Both phones also includes a 108 Megapixel main camera sensor and features Optical Image Stabilization and is capable of taking 8K video but OIS only works until 4K video recording at 60fps.

From here, both devices virtually ends there likeness as the Mi 10 Pro comes with a better set of imaging hardware that includes a 20 Megapixel Ultra Wide sensor, a 12 Megapixel Telephoto lens with 2x optical zoom and a regular 8 Megapixel Telephoto camera with 10x hybrid zoom. The regular Mi 10 on the other hand comes with a 13 Megapixel Ultra Wide snapper, a 2 Megapixel with Macro lens and a 2 Megapixel depth sensor.

When it comes to its endurance, the Mi 10 actually has more with 4780mAh battery and it supports 30W fast charging both for wired and wireless charging with 5W reverse charging. The Mi 10 Pro has a smaller battery with 4500mAh battery pack but supports a much better 50W wired Fast Charging and also a 30W wireless charging and 5W reverse charging as well.

The new Mi 10 starts at €799 for its 8GB/128GB variant and €899 for the 8GB/256GB variants. The Mi 10 Pro with 8GB/256GB configuration is set to retail at €999.

Mi 10 Lite

Together with the global launch of the Mi 10 Series, Xiaomi also announced the new Mi 10 Lite and is one of the most affordable devices yet for 2020 and it comes with 5G connectivity.

While the new devices shares the same name as its flagship siblings, the Mi 10 Lite looks to be another device entirely but despite that, it shares the same core experience as flagship Mi 10’s with good performance and offers an impressive imaging features for its price.

It has a rather smaller 6.57-inch display but its AMOLED though and instead of a punch hole, the Mi 10 Lite has a waterdrop notch on the display that houses its 16 Megapixel Selfie shooter.

On the back, there’s a quad camera module oriented in no resemblance to either the Mi 10 or the Mi 10 Pro but anyway, it comes with a primary 48 Megapixel sensor and three other sensors that’s powered by AI.

Under the hood, the Mi 10 Lite is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 765G with 5G modem built-in. It runs on 4160 mAh embedded battery with support for 20W fast charging.

Xiaomi is yet to release the full blown specification of the handset and is expected to be launched in the market by May of this year.
