Xiaomi-Mi-4i

Late last month, Xiaomi unveiled the latest Mi 4i handset in India which as the company suggested that the “i” in Mi 4i reflects to the market where the handset is made for, “India” and was even launched primarily in the country. But despite the name specification schemes, the Mi 4i isn’t just bound for the Indian market alone and in fact by May 12, the handset will finally become available in Hong Kong and Singapore.

However, Xiaomi confirmed during the launched of Mi 4i a couple of weeks ago that the handset will indeed enter other Asian regions in the next few weeks and it seems that the mobilization to reach other markets will finally start next week. After Hong Kong and Singapore, the Xiaomi Mi 4i is also expected to soon become available in Taiwan, Malaysia and Indonesia.

Looking back in India, Mi 4i was a sure hit that at first flash sale in the country, Xiaomi sold around 40,000 units in just 4.2 seconds and it is also expected to perform or somewhat close to that figure when it will launch in other Asian markets. Xiaomi markets the Mi 4i within the lower-to-mid-range segment of the mobile market with features closely similar to the flagship Mi4 with a few difference in internals and most noticeably with the polycarbonate body of Mi 4i up against the Mi4’s metal construction.

As for the price, Xioami already concluded the official price of the Mi 4i which goes $210 in Singapore while it’s $205 in Hong Kong. Here in the Philippines, as the country is one of the highly developed mobile market in Asia, we also expect Xiaomi to deliver the handset in our local market pretty soon enough.
