Xiaomi has finally and official announced the new Mi 10T series, like we’ve said from out earlier post, the series is a derivative to the company’s flagship with the extra “T” on it.
The new Xiaomi Mi 10T is available in two variants, one is the regular Mi 10T and the other is a the Mi 10T Pro which we’ll get into their differences in a bit. But first let us take a look on what they have in common.
The new device is built around a 6.67-inch IPS LCD display, it’s a downgrade from the AMOLED screen on the Mi 10’s but the new Mi 10T series comes with Xiaomi’s first 144Hz display refresh rate feature with Adaptive Sync – a feature that automatically select the appropriate display refresh rate based on what is on the screen.
Xiaomi already comes with a flagship device for 2020 and the Mi 10T is just an extension of it so at this moment, we can’t call it a flagship smartphone because it isn’t. Instead, many fans and official media outlets calls it a flagship killer and indeed, it is one as it comes with a Snapdragon 865 chipset – a flagship grade SoC from Qualcomm.
The Mi 10T is also marketed as a 5G smartphone and it’s one you’d expect on the latest devices, however you have to understand not everyone can use 5G as carriers are still in the course of upgrading their equipments to service the new standard.
The Mi 10T is available globally, meaning it is more likely that it will become available in your location unlike the recently announced Mi 10 Ultra that is only available in China. The benefits of having a Global version phone is you’ll not going to get the lots of bloatware from Chinese only versions and also you have a Google Play app out of the box.
So what makes the two variants of the Mi 10T different from one to the other? The answer is their Cameras.
The Mi 10T has a uniquely arranged cameras with a rectangular module. Both variants includes a triple camera setup with a primary large sensor where on the regular Mi 10T is a 64 Megapixel sensor while the Mi 10T Pro comes with a 108 Megapixel sensor similar to the sensor on the Mi 10 Pro. These camera sensor difference is what defines both devices and that separates them apart.
The rest of the sensors are the 13 Megapixel camera with an Ultra Wide Angle Lens and a 5 Megapixel Depth sensor. Now on the front, both Mi 10T variants comes with a single 20 Megapixel front-facing shooter that should take care of everything Selfies.
The Mi 10T series is jam packed with extra features that you can find in a smartphone with such features as Multifunctional-NFC, Dual Speakers, Liquid cooling, 3D recording, side-mounted fingerprint reader (because the display can’t feature one, hence the “LCD”), and an improved X-Axis Linear Vibration motor.
The Mi 10T series runs on a hefty 5000mAh embedded battery with support for a 33W fast charging. The handset is also driven by the latest MIUI 12 which is based on Android 10.
Xiaomi showed the price for the Mi 10T series in europe:
- Mi 10T (6GB/128GB) = 499.00 Euros
- Mi 10T (8G/128GB) = 549.00 Euros
- Mi 10T Pro (8GB/128GB) = 599.00 Euros
- Mi 10T Pro (8GB/256GB) = 649.00 Euros
On the last note, the Mi 10T and the Mi 10T Pro due to its lower prices, had to sacrifice a few things, first there is no wireless charging on this one and there is no IP rating so it basically is not water resistant but for a device this premium, we are sure that Xiaomi, added some later of protection on its device.
The box comes with everything needed including a fast charger, a SIM ejector pin, and a free jelly case which Xiaomi gladly include inside the box and not only that, it also comes with a sort of antibacterial coating, a good thing to have one this pandemic.
