Xiaomi goes full disclosure on the upcoming Mi 9

Xiaomi is pretty much excited about the upcoming Mi 9 that the company opted to spill almost or most likely every highlights of the Mi 9 on Xioami’s official twitter account.

The most interesting feature about the new Xiaomi flagship is the triple camera sensors on the back of the phone. It is powered primarily by a 48 Megapixel camera with 0.8 um pixel size on a 1/2″ imaging sensor with an effective 12 Megapixel images. Then there’s a 16 Megapixel sensor with 117-degree wide-angle lens and a third camera with 12 Megapixel sensor both having an f/2.2 Aperture.

For sound output, Xiaomi claims that the Mi 9 will have an “outstanding sound quality” speaker that will be equivalent to a 0.99cc large speaker box. That might sound absurd but let’s find out when test units becomes available.

For gaming fans, the Mi 9 will shipped with Xiaomi’s new “Game Turbo” feature which basically boosts CPU and GPU performance for a better and smoother gaming performance.

The new flagship Mi 9 will feature a large Full-HD+ display with 103.8% NTSC wide-color gamut and 600nit brightness. It features Xiaomi Reading Mode 2.0 and Sunlight Mode 2.0 for improved readability in any possible lighting conditions. It also includes an under-display fingerprint sensor as the new way of biometric authentication. And yeah, it has a waterdrop notch at the top for the front-facing camera.

In addtion to standard USB-C charging. Xiaomi enables wireless charging on the Mi 9 with 20W charging speeds.

The handset may be built in full-metal but the shell is a Corning Gorilla Glass 6 sheet both for the front and back. Xiaomi also claims that the glass cover for the main camera module will be of Sapphire glass lens cover.

The new Mi 9 will avialable in Lavender Violet, Ocean Blue, and Piano Black. Xiaomi will also release a Xiaomi Mi9: Battle Angel edition based on live-action hit Alita: Battle Angel.
