Xiaomi in 2018 launched a new brand of phone the POCOPHONE series with the POCO F1. It was hailed as the flagship killer from the company itself and was further solidified by users and fans. It hasn’t got a follow-up even after more than a year in the market and despite the warm welcome of users.

Now, users and fans of the series could finally look forward as Xiaomi has filed a trademark application for the POCO F2. The filing was done on December 4, 2019 with file number 42820005 under trademark classification 9 and was discovered by twitter user @_the_tech_guy.
The new filing suggests that Xiaomi is working at the POCO F1 successor and that the Redmi K series isn’t going to take over the line anytime soon.
Many of us thought that Xiaomi had abandoned the POCOPHONE line with the introduction of the Redmi K series. But with their main difference and the different market they’re offered that is somehow not the case.
Instead, Xiaomi will continue to develop the POCOPHONE series with the POCO F2 as the worthy successor. While the trademark filing does not mention any hardware specification of the device, It’s most likely that it will also bring flagship-grade specs on the series with the latest processors, better hardware and even more features.
