Xiaomi formally announced the company’s new flagship the Mi Note and the more powerful Mi Note Pro. With its sheer size, the Chinese device manufacturer aims the new Mi Note series to directly compete against Apple’s larger iPhone 6 Plus. The iPhone 6 Plus and the Mi Note may have almost the same size but the latter has a larger display measuring at 5.7-inch. The handset is made out of metal which is prominent on its sides, this frame holds the hardware components right in place and has given the handset its premium look. The power button and the volume rocker on the sides seems to be metal as well that fairly compliments the entire side of the device.

The Mi Note’s display is produced by Sharp/JDI and features 95% NTSC color gamut with 4000:1 contrast ratio with adoptive dynamic contrast. The handset also features reading mode where the display reduces the short wavelength of blue light to help minimize eye strain. The large display is protected by a layer of Corning Gorilla Glass 3 which does the same as well on the back making both the front and back protected by Gorilla Glass 3. Xiaomi has put an intricate details on the device’s protective glass. The front has what it’s called the 2.5D glass and features a gentle curve around the edges and on the back it’s what Xiaomi calls a 3D glass is a more pronounced curve.
If the outside looks outstanding, the inside should pretty deliver the same excitement as well, that’s why Xiaomi equipped the Mi Note with Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 SoC with 2.5 GHz Quad-Core processor and an Adreno 330 Graphics processor. It also comes with either 16 GB or 64 GB of internal storage. The Mi Note has Dual SIM slots with one micro SIM slot and one nano SIM slot, both SIM’s has dual active/dual standby 4G LTE wireless network support.
// Mi Note Pro
The Mi Note Pro is basically the Mi Note but instead of a 1080p display, the Mi Note Pro is equipped with a 2K (2560 x 1440 at 515 ppi) on a 5.7-inch display. Also the Pro variant is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 SoC with 64-bit Octa-core processor, Adreno 430 graphics processor and 4 GB of RAM. It comes with 64 GB of internal storage as standard and support for LTE Cat.9 with download speeds of up to 450 Mbps.

On the front is also a hefty shooting beast with 4-Megapixel camera sensor with 2 micron pixel size similar to HTC One’s UltraPixel camera.
the Mi Note is notably slim with dimensions at 155.1 x 177.6 x 6.95mm and weighs around 161 grams and that includes the Li-Ion 3000 mAh non-removable battery. Xiaomi Mi Note series will be running on the new MIUI 6 based on Android.
