vivo X300 Series Goes Global: Flagship Imaging and OriginOS 6 Debut Worldwide

Earlier in October, vivo launched the new X300 series in China, bringing significant upgrades to the lineup. The launch provided an early look at the new X300 and X300 Pro devices and allowed tech reviewers to take a closer look at their imaging capabilities.

Now, vivo is finally making its latest flagship devices available in the global market through a special event held in Vienna, marking a significant step toward bringing the new X series to Europe and eventually to the rest of the world.

You’ve probably heard about the X300 over the past few weeks, and as a quick recap, the series debuts with the latest MediaTek Dimensity 9500 chipset, a new Samsung 200MP telephoto sensor, and the long-awaited OriginOS finally arriving on the international market. vivo fans are familiar with FunTouchOS, which powered global vivo devices for years, but the new OriginOS promises better optimization and performance improvements that were previously exclusive to vivo’s Chinese models.

Imaging has always been what the X series is known for, and the new X300 lineup—especially the X300 Pro—takes the imaging experience a notch higher.

To start, the X300 Pro features a circular camera module on the back, aesthetically designed to resemble a traditional camera lens. It includes three sensors: a 50MP Sony LYT-828 main sensor with an f/1.57 aperture lens and gimbal OIS, a 200MP Samsung HPB telephoto sensor offering up to 3.5x optical zoom, and a 50MP Samsung JN1 ultrawide sensor. On the front, there’s a similar 50MP Samsung JN1 sensor for selfies and video calls.

With powerful camera hardware, vivo uses a VS1 imaging co-processor to pre-process every frame while the V3+ chip handles post-processiing. With these two working together, what we’ll get a faster image processing and a broader scene coverage.

On the front side, the X300 Pro sports a large 6.78-inch 8T LTPO AMOLED display with support for HDR10+ and Dolby Vision, offering up to 4,500 nits of peak brightness and a 120Hz dynamic refresh rate. It also features an ultrasonic fingerprint sensor integrated into the display.

Powering the X300 Pro is the new MediaTek Dimensity 9500, based on a 3nm process, paired with the Arm G1-Ultra GPU for enhanced graphics performance. RAM options are 12GB or 16GB, with the former paired with 256GB of storage, while the latter is available in 512GB and 1TB variants.

When vivo announced the new X300 series in China, the devices came with larger batteries. However, due to EU regulations, the global version ships with a slightly smaller 5,440mAh battery. Nevertheless, the X300 Pro still supports 90W wired and 40W wireless charging.

The X300 Pro measures 7.99mm thick and weighs around 226 grams. It comes with IP68/IP69 dust and water resistance and features stereo speakers, Bluetooth 5.4, Wi-Fi 7, GPS, NFC, infrared, and a USB-C port.

Interestingly, vivo extends the X300 Pro’s imaging capabilities with a special accessory called the Photography Kit, previously available with the X200 Ultra. It includes a phone case, battery grip, lanyard, and a telephoto extender lens.

The X300 Pro may check all the boxes, but if you prefer something more compact, the regular X300 might be the right fit. Don’t let its smaller size fool you—it offers nearly the same flagship experience as the Pro but in a lighter and more manageable form.

The X300 features a 6.31-inch LTPO AMOLED display with the same ultrasonic fingerprint scanner and 120Hz refresh rate. It comes with a slightly smaller 5,360mAh battery, but charging speeds remain the same at 90W wired and 40W wireless.

Its camera setup is equally impressive, featuring a 200MP Samsung HPB main sensor, a 50MP Sony LYT-602 APO telephoto lens, and a 50MP Samsung JN1 ultrawide sensor. On the front, you’ll also find a 50MP Samsung JN1 sensor.

Keep in mind that due to its smaller dimensions, the Photography Kit mentioned earlier isn’t compatible with the X300.

Because of its compact build, the X300 weighs just 180 grams. It retains IP68/IP69 dust and water resistance and all the same connectivity features as the X300 Pro.

vivo’s new X300 series runs on OriginOS 6 based on Android 16 and promises five years of OS upgrades along with seven years of Android security updates. Prices start at 1,049 euros for the X300 and 1,399 euros for the X300 Pro.
