vivo V80 Packs ZEISS Cameras, a 7,200mAh Battery and 144Hz OLED Display Into One Seriously Impressive Phone
The new vivo V80 combines a Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 chip, 50MP ZEISS cameras, 90W FlashCharge, a 1.5K 144Hz OLED display and Android 17 to deliver a premium smartphone experience without going all the way into flagship territory.
vivo has officially introduced its latest V-series smartphone, and the vivo V80 is bringing a surprisingly serious collection of hardware and features to the table. The new smartphone continues vivo’s focus on photography and stylish design, but this time the company has also gone big on battery life, display technology, performance and durability.
At the center of the V80 experience is a Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 processor, a 7,200mAh battery, a 144Hz 1.5K OLED display, and a ZEISS-powered camera system that includes not one, but two 50MP cameras on the back. And yes, there’s plenty of AI involved too.
Photography remains one of the biggest selling points of the V-series, and the V80 takes that idea even further with a ZEISS-backed triple-camera system. The main camera is a 50MP Sony LYTIA 700V sensor with optical image stabilization (OIS). It is joined by a 50MP ZEISS Night Telephoto camera using Sony’s IMX882 sensor.

That telephoto camera offers 3x optical zoom, giving users a proper optical zoom option rather than relying entirely on digital cropping. vivo also says the camera can reach up to 100x zoom through its combination of optical and digital processing. There’s also an 8MP ZEISS ultra-wide-angle camera with a 115-degree field of view.
For selfies, vivo has equipped the V80 with a 50MP autofocus front camera with a 92-degree field of view. That’s particularly interesting for group selfies, portraits and creators who regularly use their phone’s front camera for video.
The camera system also supports a variety of shooting modes, including Night, Portrait, Pro, Astro, Supermoon, Film Camera and Ultra HD Document modes.
vivo is putting considerable emphasis on portraits with the V80. The ZEISS camera system includes an 85mm portrait framing option and a 100mm Center-Stage Portrait mode designed to produce a more compressed, cinematic look. The telephoto camera is also designed to perform in low-light situations, which should make it useful for evening portraits and night photography.
For video creators, the V80 supports 4K video recording at up to 60fps, along with cinematic video styles and color treatments intended to give footage a more movie-like appearance.
The V80 comes with several AI-powered creative tools designed to make editing and creating content easier. One example is AI Lighting, which can automatically enhance the lighting and atmosphere of a photograph. There’s also Live Sticker Collage, which can turn elements from Live Photos into personalized stickers.
Another interesting feature is Snap Note, which can use AI to recognize information from photos of whiteboards or handwritten notes and convert them into structured, editable documents. vivo also includes Security Shield, a collection of security and privacy features designed to help protect users from scams and other threats.
The phone features a 6.59-inch AMOLED/OLED display with a 2750 × 1260 resolution, giving it 1.5K-class sharpness. It also supports a refresh rate of up to 144Hz, making animations, scrolling and supported games look noticeably smoother than traditional 60Hz displays.

vivo rates the panel at up to 5,000 nits of peak brightness, while its high-brightness mode reaches 1,800 nits. The display also supports a wide P3 color gamut and can display more than a billion colors. For nighttime use, vivo has also added an ultra-low brightness mode capable of going down to 1 nit. The company says the display includes features designed to reduce glare and make nighttime viewing more comfortable.
The smartphone packs a 7,200mAh battery, which vivo describes as the largest battery in its V-series at launch. That’s paired with 90W FlashCharge, giving the V80 both a large battery and fast charging. According to vivo’s laboratory testing, the phone can reach 50 percent charge in around 30 minutes when using the appropriate fast-charging setup. Actual charging time will naturally vary depending on conditions and usage.
vivo says the battery can provide up to 14 hours of navigation and 39.5 hours of local video playback under its laboratory test conditions. For people who spend a lot of time away from a charger, this could be one of the V80’s most practical advantages.
Under the hood, the V80 uses Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 Mobile Platform. The 4nm chipset features an eight-core CPU configuration with a peak clock speed of 2.8GHz. The Indian model comes with 8GB of LPDDR4X RAM, while storage options include 128GB, 256GB and 512GB using UFS 3.1 storage.
The phone also supports up to 16GB of extended RAM through software optimization. That combination should give the V80 plenty of horsepower for everyday multitasking, social media, photography, streaming and gaming. It isn’t positioned as a hardcore gaming flagship, but the Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 combined with the 144Hz display gives the V80 a strong performance package for a premium midrange phone.
The V80 ships with OriginOS 7 based on Android 17 out of the box, making it one of the first vivo V-series phones to arrive with this software combination. OriginOS 7 brings vivo’s own interface and customization features, including options such as Pet Pals, StickIt and Wiggle Theme.

vivo is also promising up to six years of extended security updates, although availability and update duration can vary by market and device configuration.
Packing a 7,200mAh battery usually means carrying around a chunky smartphone, but vivo has managed to keep the V80 relatively slim. The phone measures approximately 157.52 × 74.33 × 7.69mm and weighs around 203 grams. It features a glass back and a premium-looking design with a floating camera module.
vivo has also given the V80 serious protection against dust and water. The phone carries both IP68 and IP69 ratings, providing protection against dust and water exposure under the applicable testing conditions.
There’s also a 3D ultrasonic fingerprint sensor built into the display. Connectivity includes 5G, dual SIM support, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.4, NFC and USB-C. The phone also includes an infrared blaster and gyroscope.
One thing worth noting for wired-audio fans: the V80 doesn’t have a traditional 3.5mm headphone jack. vivo says USB-C digital earphones are supported, while analog earphones require a compatible USB-C adapter with a DAC.
The vivo V80 has officially launched in India with three storage configurations. The 8GB + 128GB model starts at INR 62,999, while the 8GB + 256GB version costs INR 69,999. The top-end 8GB + 512GB model is priced at INR 79,999. Sales are scheduled to begin in India on October 13, 2026.
