Total COVID-19 cases in the Philippines is now at 82,040

The Department of Health (DOH) issues COVID-19 Bulletin No. 135 on July 27, 2020. This bulletin reports a total of 1,657 new confirmed cases of COVID-19.

With this number together with yesterday’s figure, the total number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in the country is now at 82,040 with a Death toll of 1,945 after 16 new reported deaths were added.

This bulletin also reports 359 new recoveries and that makes our total number of recoveries to 26,446.

With these figures calculated, the Philippines now has a total of 53,649 active COVID-19 cases on record. More info about this Bulletin is detailed down below:


The World Health Organization (WHO) declared COVID-19 as a Pandemic on March 03, 2020 which started in Wuhan, China. The disease is caused by Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome – coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV2) with a Flu like symptoms such as Fever, Cough, Colds and in more severe cases Difficulty in Breathing.

Pharmaceuticals around the world are actively engaged in clinical research, testing and trials for vaccines to eradicate the COVID-19 virus and to conclude their efficacy and effectiveness. As the world awaits for a vaccine for COVID-19, the only way to protect ourselves from getting infected is to practise proper and frequent handwashing, avoid touching our face, mouth, nose and eyes. Our health experts as well as the government urged everyone to wear a suitable and effective face mask as often as possible and when outside of our homes.
