The Department of Health (DOH) issued COVID-19 Bulletin No. 217 on October 17, 2020 at 4:00 pm. This bulletin reports 2,673 new confirmed cases of COVID-19.
With this number together with yesterday’s figure, the total number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in the country is now at 354,338 with a Death toll of 6,603 after 73 new reported deaths were added.
This bulletin also reports a total of 539 new recoveries making our total number of recoveries to 295,312.
With these figures calculated, the country currently has a presumed total of 52,423 active COVID-19 cases on record. More info about this Bulletin is detailed in the infographic down below:
The World Health Organization (WHO) declared COVID-19 as a Pandemic on March 03, 2020 which started in Wuhan, China. The disease is caused by Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome – coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV2) with a Flu like symptoms such as Fever, Cough, Colds and in more severe cases Difficulty in Breathing.
