Looking for a cheap and inexpensive gadgets this holiday season may turn into a little disappointment as one of the top supplier of online gadget shops in the Philippines was raided by the combined forces of the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI), Bureau of Customs and the Philippine National Police.
The warehouse located in Binondo Manila was raided on Monday under the warrant of seizure and detention issued by the Port of Manila District Collector Mario Mendoza following several reports and complaints from legitimate businesses, brands and companies regarding the proliferation of fake items and goods sold over the internet.
The warehouse houses at least 70-Million worth of counterfeit smartphones and similar devices such as the Samsung Galaxy S4, Samsung Galaxy Note, Samsung Galaxy Grand, Apple iPhone 5C, Apple iPhone 5s, iPhone 4S and several number of tablets, powerbanks, smartphone cases and other non-electronic items was seized. Some items found inside the warehouse do not have an ICC marked which is required for imported products and accessories.
The warehouse is owned and controlled by LFA Enterprises and is located along Barraca St. in Binondo Manila which claims to be the top supplier for electronic gadgets, home appliances, toiletries and accessories for several online shopping sites in the country. The BOC-NICE-CIDG is now doing a follow-up operation and investigations for the preparation of possible charges against the people behind LFA Enterprises’s operation.
