Everything is good to go for Samsung’s first Tizen powered device. After a long delay, the Korean tech giant Samsung is ready to launch its first device under the new Tizen platform. The handset has just been leaked almost a week ago and now Samsung has finally confirmed the handset and is preparing to launch the new device as the new Samsung Z1 this coming January 18.

And today, we’ve got a new fresh live images of the new handset in the wild. From the looks of it, Samsung isn’t going for the high-end segment right away at launch instead, Samsung has supplied a modest kind of specs which showcase the new platform that it could even perform seamlessly on low-end specs.

The handset comes in a basic setup with 4-inch display having a 800 x 480 resolutions, 1.2 GHz Dual-Core processor and 768 MB of RAM, there’s also a 4 GB internal storage which is kind of low but a memory expansion slot will allow users to expand its storage space through a micro-SD card.

Users looking forward on taking photos and videos with the new handset will also get the pretty basic specs that Samsung could put on it. At the back there is the 3-Megapixel main camera with LED flash and on the front is a VGA (0.3 Megapixel) camera which shots fairly basic but good enough for every video call needs.

On connectivity, the new Samsung Z1 is a Dual-SIM handset and is 3G and HSPA+ wireless network compatible. Other connectivity features that comes as standard includes: Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS with A-GPS and an FM Radio.

We’ll Expect the new Samsung Z1 would be running the latest version of Tizen when released. The handset is powered by a small 1500 mAh battery which we are yet to see if it could cope up with the platform’s power needs.

Samsung is launching the handset first in India this coming January 18 and will go to China and South Korea right after before the handset becomes available in other regions. Though Samsung haven’t revealed the price of the upcoming Samsung Z1 as of yet but we’re expecting a retail price of $90 or just below a hundred bucks per unit.
