The Xiaomi Mi Watch launched in China

Together with the announcement of the new Mi CC9 Pro, Xiaomi also unveiled its first Mi Watch running Android WearOS with MIUI for Watch on top.

Upfront, the new Mi Watch can be mistaken for the Apple Watch as it looks just like one with a squircle design but the Mi Watch has a curve top display at 1.78-inch. It’s an AMOLED display with touchscreen interface. It also features a digital crown on the right side and is constructed with aluminum frame and a ceramic back cover.

The Mi Watch runs on Qualcomm Snapdragon Wear 3100 with 1GB of RAM and 8GB of internal storage. The Mi Watch user interface is driven by a toned-down version of MIUI designed for the Watch based on the latest Android Wear operating system.

Feature-wise, the watch comes with a heart rate sensor, as well as Oxygen saturation, sleep and activity tracker for swimming, running and more. It also includes e-SIM support, Wi-Fi, NFC, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS, Compass and Barometer.

The included features doesn’t stop there as the Mi Watch also includes a microphone, speaker and supports music playback and has a Xiaomi Xiao AI built-in. There also an App drawer and a dedicated App store which currently has more than 40 apps available optimized for the Mi Watch.

The new Mi Watch comes with a 570mAh embedded battery which promises up to 36 hours of use. It’s a little less than expected for such battery but hopefully Xiaomi can work more on the battery optimization for that.

The Mi Watch will be available to two variants, the standard version will ship with a flourocarbon anti-sensitive straps and are available in four colors. The Exclusive Premium variant on the other hand comes with a stainless steel frame and has a 4D curved sapphire glass protection.

The Standard Xiaomi Mi Watch retails at CNY1,299 and will be available on November 11 while the Exclusive Premium variant will go on sale in December and costs CNY 1,999.
