The Philippines reaches a new milestone as COVID-19 cases surged to 13,221
DOH released COVID-19 CASE BULLETIN #67 at 16:00H (4:00PM PST) on May 20, 2020.
Today, the Philippines posted a new milestone for the number of confirmed infections in the country with 279 new cases as of 4:00PM. Our total number of COVID-19 cases is now at 13,221. There were also 5 new deaths reported which gives us a total of 842 COVID-19 related deaths on record.
Our recoveries are also something to watch for as it grows exponentially by the day with today’s new recoveries at 89, the country now has a total of 2,932 reported recoveries.

COVID-19 was declared by World Health Organization (WHO) as a Pandemic on March 03, 2020 which started in Wuhan, China. The disease is caused by Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome – coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV2) with a Flu like symptoms such as Fever, Cough, Colds and in more severe cases Difficulty in Breathing.
There are no vaccines or direct cure for the disease at the moment and the only way to protect ourselves from getting infected is to practise proper and frequent handwashing, avoid touching our face, mouth, nose and eyes. Our health experts as well as the government urged everyone to wear a suitable and effective face mask as much as possible and when outside of our homes.
