The Philippines COVID-19 cases shoots to 10,004 as 320 new cases were reported today
DOH released COVID-19 CASE BULLETIN #53 at 16:00H (4:00PM PST) on May 06, 2020.
As mass testing continues, our number of cases surges everyday with todays count being out of the highest in weeks with 320 new cases of COVID-19 reported. The country now has a total of 10,004 confirmed cases since the outbreak.
In just a day, the Department of Health reports 21 new deaths and a total Death Toll of 658.
We’ve also got 98 new recoveries which makes our total recoveries at 1,506.

COVID-19 was declared by World Health Organization (WHO) as a Pandemic on March 03, 2020 which started in Wuhan, China. The disease is caused by Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome – coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV2) with a Flu like symptoms such as Fever, Cough, Colds and in more severe cases Difficulty in Breathing.
There are no vaccines or direct cure for the disease at the moment and the only way to protect ourselves from getting infected is to practise proper and frequent handwashing, avoid touching our face, mouth, nose and eyes. Our health experts as well as the government urged everyone to wear a suitable and effective face mask as much as possible and when outside of our homes.
