The new VIVO IQOO: Gaming device with Monster Specs, Premium hardware
Vivo had offered us devices with great specs, but none of them are premium and high-end in terms of specs until today. The long rumored and mysterious Vivo phone was finally revealed as the new IQOO.

The new IQOO is a gaming smartphone in its entirety with monster specs. It is a direct departure from the usual mid-range specs of Vivo’s existing lineup as it is powered by Snapdragon 855 and up to 12GB of RAM available.
The display is a 6.4-inch super AMOLED panel and features a full-HD+ display. It comes with a waterdrop notch on top and has an embedded fingerprint sensor on the display.

Vivo tagged it as “Monster Inside” denoting its hardware. From Qualcomm 8-core Snapdragon 855 and comes with RAM starting at 6GB and up to 12GB with storage capacities between 128GB and 256GB. It doesn’t come with memory expansion though that won’t be a problem at least in the next two years or so.
As it is aimed for gaming, the new IQOO is equipped with Super liquid cooling tech with curable thermal gel, high thermal conductivity aluminum alloy frame and a multi-layer composite graphite heat-dissipating film to achieve better temperature control.
Like all other Vivo devices today, they aren’t complete without associating AI in them and with what the hardware is capable of, the IQOO surely does have in them especially with game specific tweaks. the handset comes with various AI assisted functions with Vivo’s Multi-Turbo feature. It includes AI Turbo, Center Turbo, Net Turbo, Cooling Turbo, and Game Turbo which as these functions suggests offers different system settings for specific features from enhancing app startup up to 30% to frame rates at over 70% and automatic connection switching for smooth and continuous gameplay.

Besides gaming, the Vivo IQOO also includes an impressive camera hardware with a triple camera setup at the back. It has a 12MP main camera with dual-pixel tech together with a 2MP depth sensor and a 13MP camera with ultra-wide angle lens. On the front, there’s a 12MP Selfie shooter with display flash that also worked as Face Unlock.

Now, to complete such gaming phone, the Vivo IQOO comes with touch sensitive points that works as buttons when it’s held horizontally with the top of the phone pointing toward the left.

It boots FunTouch OS 9 based on Android 9, but mind you, this proprietary UI is heavily customized and function in such a way an IOS has. Nevertheless it works as it is intended and you’ll get use to it anyway in no time.
The fun never have to end with IQOO, Vivo embeds a 4000mAh battery on the device and supports up to 44W fast charging, so juicing up won’t be a problem. From all of its variants, the 6GB/128GB configuration is the only version of the device that won’t support such feature but should still be fine with its not too slow 22W charging.

The new Vivo IQOO will launch in China with its first flash sale happening today. Available in Electric Blue and Lava Orange, the 6GB/128GB combo is priced at CNY2,998. The 8GB/128GB model is priced at CNY3,298 while its 8GB/256GB variant costs CNY6,598. The top of the line IQOO 12GB/256GB variant to cost CNY4,298.
With these pricing, it surely does win for users looking for budget friendly device with premium specs and superb hardware. That is if an iOS-eque interface doesn’t bother you at all.
