It had been rumored that LG’s flagship the LG G6 will have a new variant coming out and indeed, the Korean tech firm outs the new LG G6+ but unlike the speculations attached to it, the G6+ won’t have larger display as some had anticipated. Instead, the LG G6+ will have a higher storage space plus a little of exclusively for its line.
While everything the LG G6 is what comes to G6+ but the new variant has an increased storage as standard at 128GB, also coming with that ample storage is the added Qi Wireless charging capability to the handset that’s only available to the Plus version of the handset.
Along with the new variant, LG also introduced new color options for the handset and that includes the Optical Marine Blue and Optical Terra Gold and Optical Black with LG’s meticulous craftsmanship to have the back of the handset to change its hues depending on the direction of the light source. With the LG G6+, LG bundled a new Bang & Olsen premium headset that will be exclusive for this variant of the handset.
Together with the G6+ new hardware, LG bundled a new software for the flagship handset and that it will also be available to the regular LG G6 as a software update. The new update with bring new features and capabilities such as the new face recognition functionality which allows users to unlock their smartphones by pointing their handset on the face.
With the new software are the Low Power Consumption by Qualcomm Hexagon DSP architecture built into Qualcomm Snapdragon chipset available for the LG G6 which collect data from sensors and wireless connection to improve the user experience while in low power mode.
Another new neat feature added to the new firmware is Covered Lens warning which warns users when something is covering the camera lens such as the hands or fingers that would somehow spoil the shot altogether. And there’s a fine volume control for its Hi Fi Quad Audio and auto recording for calls from specified contacts.
