The Galaxy S21 and the Galaxy S21+ is official, would you upgrade?

After months of rumors and leaks, the Korean tech giant finally unleash the new Galaxy S21 series. A phone that will make your everyday “Epic”, or so they say.

Well, you see, Samsung made a lot of refreshing things with the outgoing galaxy S20, while the Galaxy S21 is new, it feels somewhat a minor update rather than a whole new device in itself. But let’s not take away the fact that the new Galaxy S21 series is aesthetically pleasing enough to “at least” make a switch.

To start off, the new Galaxy S21 comes primarily in three new flavors but for the sake of this article, we are going to talk about the Galaxy S21 and the Galaxy S21+ as they both share the same specs apart from having a different size of display.

The Galaxy S21 series devices are available worldwide and will be powered primarily by Samsung’s own Exynos 2100 flagship SoC, however for the US, China and in Korea, the Galaxy S21 series for these countries are to be have the Snapdragon 888 by Qualcomm instead. Both of these chipsets are based on 5nm process and virtually of the same performance. Both the Galaxy S21 and the Galaxy S21+ comes with either a 128GB or 256GB of storage and 8GB of RAM as standard however, Samsung has drop microSD support for these devices.

For imaging, both the Galaxy S21 and the Galaxy S21+ comes with a trio of sensors on the back housed in a uniquely designed camera island that seamlessly integrates itself to the frame of the device. The camera hardware from these new devices are borrowed from the Galaxy S20 where it primarily has a 12 Megapixel primary sensor, a 12 Megapixel Ultra wide and a 64 Megapixel Telephoto camera with 3x hybrid zoom and up to 30x Space Zoom.

On the front, it features a single Selfie camera with 10 Megapixel sensor, again similar to the Galaxy S20. What’s different with the Galaxy S21 though comes in post processing where Samsung takes a lot of improvement on its software algorithm for a Pro-grade shots. There’s also a native support for 8K video recording at 24fps. What’s cool is that users can get a high-quality 33 Megapixel pictures from an 8K video if one needs to take stills.

The front part of the Galaxy S21 and the Galaxy S21+ gets a little makeover or should we say a step back as both of these devices settles for a flat display design but the bezels are much thinner. The display on the Galaxy S21 measures at 6.2-inch while the Galaxy S21+ at 6.7-inch and is covered with the latest Corning Gorilla Glass Victus. These panels are of Dynamic AMOLED type and now comes with a dynamic refresh rate where it goes anywhere from 48 and up to 120Hz depending on the content on display.

The new Galaxy S21 series is driven by Samsung One UI 3.1 that is based on Android 11. The Battery of these two devices supports up to 25W of wired fast charging with Fast Qi/PMA wireless charging at 15W and reverse wireless charging at 4.5W. For the Galaxy S21, the battery is at 4000mAh and for the Galaxy S21+ at 4800mAh.

Feature-wise, the Galaxy S21 series includes an in-display fingerprint sensor and has stereo speakers. It also supports Samsung DeX and Wireless DeX for an more intuitive desktop experience, it ships with Bixby on board and of course the most useful IP68 water resistance.

The new Galaxy S21 comes in Phantom Gray, Phantom White, Phantom Violet, Phantom Pink color variants. The Galaxy S21+ on the other hand is available in Phantom Black, Phantom Silver, Phantom Violet, Phantom Pink, Phantom Gold and Phantom Red.

One thing we need to note though is that the new Galaxy S21 and the Galaxy S21+ comes with a smaller retail box which basically means that the charger isn’t included in the package and that customers will have to purchase them separately if they needed it (which we think we all are).
