The DOH reports no casualty on COVID-19 today, a first ever.

The Department of Health (DOH) released COVID-19 Daily Bulletin No. 117 for July 09, 2020 at 4:00 PM. This bulletin reports a total of 1,395 new confirmed cases of COVID-19 with details down below:

Fresh Cases: 1,184 (NCR: 390 / Region 7: 243 / Others: 484 / Repatriate: 67)

Late Cases: 211 (NCR: 53 / Region 7: 47 / Others: 108 / Repatriate: 3)

With these numbers together with yesterday’s figure, the total number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in the country is now at 51,754. Our a Death toll is peg at 1,314 as there is no reported death cases today, a first since these reports were published.

This bulletin also reports 225 new recoveries, which makes our total number of recoveries to 12,813.

With all these figures calculated, the Philippines is currently having a total of 37,627 officially recorded active COVID-19 cases.


The World Health Organization (WHO) declared COVID-19 as a Pandemic on March 03, 2020 which started in Wuhan, China. The disease is caused by Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome – coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV2) with a Flu like symptoms such as Fever, Cough, Colds and in more severe cases Difficulty in Breathing.

Pharmaceuticals around the world are actively engaged in clinical research, testing and trials for vaccines to eradicate the COVID-19 virus and to conclude their efficacy and effectiveness. As the world awaits for a vaccine for COVID-19, the only way to protect ourselves from getting infected is to practise proper and frequent handwashing, avoid touching our face, mouth, nose and eyes. Our health experts as well as the government urged everyone to wear a suitable and effective face mask as often as possible and when outside of our homes.
