The Department of Health (DOH) issued COVID-19 Bulletin No. 155 on August 16, 2020. This bulletin reports a total of 3,420 new confirmed cases of COVID-19.
With this number together with yesterday’s figure, the total number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in the country today is now at 161,253 with a Death toll of 2,665 after 65 new reported deaths were added.
This bulletin reports 40,397 new recoveries with presumptions that majority of these recoveries are from individuals who were not reported to have died from the disease and that they have moved past the predefined recovery period set by the health agency. With that, our total number of recoveries is now set to be 121,586.
With these figures calculated, the Philippines now has a total of 46,002 active COVID-19 cases on record. More info about this Bulletin is detailed in the infographic down below:
The World Health Organization (WHO) declared COVID-19 as a Pandemic on March 03, 2020 which started in Wuhan, China. The disease is caused by Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome – coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV2) with a Flu like symptoms such as Fever, Cough, Colds and in more severe cases Difficulty in Breathing.
