Sony announces PlayStation 5 price and availability

Sony just had an event announcing the availability and pricing for the new PlayStation 5 console. The new gaming console is available in two variants and the price starts at $400/€400/₤360 for the PS5 Digital Edition and $500/€500/₤450 for the standard Disc drive equipped variant.

The new PlayStation 5 console will hit the store shelves in Japan, the US, Canada, Mexico, Australia, New Zealand, and in South Korea on November 12th, while the rest of the world will have it available on November 19th. In China however, Sony plans a separate launch date which is most likely on a later date.

The special Sony event also introduces the PlayStation Plus Collection, an added PlayStation Plus benefit for PlayStation 5 customers which enables them to get PlayStation 4 titles as part of the subscriptions. These includes God of War, The Last of Us Remastered, Uncharted 4, Monster Hunter World, Fallout 4, Final Fantasy XV, The Last Guardian, Ratchet & Clank, Infamous Second Son, Days Gone, Detroit Become Human, Batman Arkham Knight, Battlefield 1, Mortal Kombat X, Persona 5, Until Dawn, Resident Evil Biohazard and Bloodborne.
