Samsung working on 20 MegaPixel Camera Module for its late 2014 Smartphone line-up

Samsung is preparing a 20 MegaPixel module scheduled for release on the second half of next year. The company recently released a 16 MegaPixel shooter inside a smartphone device with that in mind, Samsung is determined to improved the latest generation of smartphone capabilities in terms of better camera experience.

According to ET News, which stays to be a reliable source of information when it comes to smartphone manufacturers based in Korea, The Korean tech giant is set to enter the newest MegaPixel race which contradicted earlier rumors which suggested that the company may opt to 16 MegaPixel or 18 MegaPixel camera module at max.

Scheduled to include the 20 MegaPixel modules to its smartphone devices for the second half of 2014, Samsung is also focusing on the development of related camera features such as Complementary Metal Oxide Semiconductor (CMOS) imaging sensors, auto-focus (AF) actuators and high-index lenses.

Aside from developing high pixel density camera sensors, Samsung is also considering to incorporate an Optical Image Stabilization feature on its smartphone line-up which failed to materialized when the GALAXY S4 and then the GALAXY Note 3 was released. Considering the company’s competitors move to include the said feature, Samsung is set to finally include the long awaited feature on its high end devices which is forecasted to come into light next year.
