Samsung officially unveiled the new Galaxy Tab S5e

Samsung is one of the few mobile device manufacturer that’s not giving up on tablets as they launched their thinnest tablet ever – the Galaxy Tab S5e with built-in Bixby 2.0 and boots Android 9 Pie out of the box.

The new tablet isn’t one of the best that Samsung could offer though as it is an “essential” version of the tablet which caters a specific group of users that uses the tablet mainly for multimedia consumption, casual browsing and minor productivity applications.

It is also the first Samsung tablet with Bixby 2.0 built-in so you can query Bixby with anything plus do voice commands on compatible smart devices around. Then there’s a new Call & Message Continuity feature that lets users take calls and send messages even away from your phone through the tablet.

The Galaxy Tab S5e is equipped with a 10.5-inch superAMOLED 16:10 display with small bezels (for a tablet). In addition to this, the device is also super thin with only 5.1mm in thickness and only weighs 400 grams at least for the WiFi variant.

Powering the device is a Snapdragon 670 from Qualcomm with 2 high-power cores running at 2.2GHz and 6 low-power cores clocked at 1.7GHz. It comes with either 4GB or 6GB of RAM and 64GB or a 128GB of internal storage respectively.

For its multimedia functions, the Galaxy Tab S5e is equipped with 13 Megapixel primary camera and 8 Megapixel front camera. Both sensors are capable of shooting 1080p videos but the rear can do 4K video recording in 30fps. As for the speakers, it has the same 4-speaker setup from its predecessor tuned by AKG and support Dolby ATMOS.

With 7,040 mAh built-in battery, Samsung promises up to 14.5-hours of battery life in a single charge on the Galaxy Tab S5e. The LTE variant though is expected to have a lower estimates than this but Samsung is yet to spill the details for that variant though as it will become available later this year. The WiFi version that Samsung recently announced will be available in the market by Q2 of 2019.
