Just before Christmas, Samsung officially announced the new Galaxy A9 during Samsung’s Galaxy A Party 2016 held in China, the handset is the top of the line device in the A series of devices that has been around the rumor mill for quite sometime.

As we’ve already known for a while already, the Samsung Galaxy A9 features a large 6.0-inch superAMOLED 1080p display with a 2.5D curved glass cover and a highly thin side bezel which Samsung brags about it at only 2.74mm. like all other new devices in the A series, the Galaxy A9 features a metallic build, a better departure from the not too well accepted glass back covers of recent Samsung phones.

Under the skin is a balanced set of features and ticking inside every Galaxy A9 is the recently renamed Octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 652 which is known previously as the Snapdragon 620, the processor. The processor supported by 3 GB of system RAM with 32 GB of expandable storage.

Samsung has been known to provide a better spec’d camera setup on every device they released and the Galaxy A9 looks to follow the trend, it comes equipped with a 13 Megapixel main camera with a bright f/1.9 aperture, an optical image stabilization (OIS) feature and an LED flash. At the front is also a more than capable shooter with an 8 Megapixel sensor which should do more than enough for Selfies and video calls.

Communication is key to every smartphone device and the Galaxy A9 optimized it’s connectivity options to cater every user’s needs. It’s got a 4G/LTE support in addition to traditional 3G and 2G wireless connectivity and comes with a dual-SIM option. It also comes with standard connectivity features including Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.1, NFC, GPS with A-GPS support and a standard 3.5 mm headphone jack and a microUSB 2.0 port.

With premium build and targeted towards demanding users, Samsung made sure that the Galaxy A9 will also be one of the most secure device there is that they’ve included a fingerprint scanner that is embedded into the physical home button of the new Galaxy A9 which basically functions the same as the Samsung’s flagship devices. The fingerprint biometric sensor on the handset will provide a more secure way to unlock the device and make transactions online.

Samsung also managed to keep the Galaxy A9 thin at only 7.4 mm but was still able to cramped in a 4000 mAh non-removable battery which would do so much for users. You might have to question it but Samsung decided to ship the Galaxy A9 with Android 5.1.1 (Lollipop) but we’re sure that the Korean tech giant is already preparing a Marshmallow update for the handset which should be out earlier next year.
