Samsung made the 2016 Galaxy A7, Galaxy A5 and Galaxy A3 official

After several rumors and leaks, the new 2016 versions of the Galaxy A7, Galaxy A5 and Galaxy A3 from Samsung are finally made official. Following the success of the Galaxy S6 design, the Galaxy A series of devices follows the design principles of the company’s flagship. In addition to that, the 2016 Galaxy devices have incorporated a better camera sensor, fingerprint sensor and support for Samsung Pay.
The Galaxy A series is designed to cater each market based on customer preference. Samsung explicitly offers the Galaxy A devices with premium build quality and more than features than those from the other devices that Samsung has. With cues from its flagship devices, Samsung built the 2016 Galaxy A series devices with both metal and glass materials and is one of the top end devices from Samsung that features the same facias as the Galaxy S6 or the Galaxy Note 5.
Galaxy A7

From the newly announced devices, the Galaxy A7 stands tall from the rest and is the biggest among the three though there’s the larger Galaxy A8 in the market but that’s a different story for us and Samsung hasn’t announced any update for the next generation Galaxy A8 as of yet. So we are all focusing on the Galaxy A7 as the top-end model of the three today.
It comes with a large 5.5-inch Phablet class Full-HD AMOLED display and is powered by a 1.6 GHz octa-core processor with 3 GB RAM and 16 GB of expandable storage. It comes with a 3300 non-removable battery with fast charging on a compatible charger and runs Android 5.1 (Lollipop). It supports a faster LTE Cat.6 wireless connection in addition to standard connectivity options.
For imaging enthusiasts, the handset features a 13 Megapixel main camera with OIS feature and a 5 Megapixel on the front with both imaging modules having a f/1.9 aperture for a brighter images.
One distinguishing feature of the new Galaxy A7 is that it comes with glass laminations from both the front and the back with a more premium look than its siblings. It measures 151.5 x 74.1 x 7.3mm and weighs 172 grams. The handset is also equipped with a fingerprint sensor for an easy and more secure online payment and provides a better security feature and an easier alternative to unlock the device.
Galaxy A5

Smaller than the Galaxy A7 is the new Galaxy A5. The handset features a 5.2-inch full-HD super AMOLED display, it’s display is basically have been upgrade for the new model. the original Galaxy A5 went out with a 5-inch display which the 2016 version goes with a 0.2-inch more than its predecessor. The handset also received a significant upgrade with an 8-core processor inside. The RAM and storage however remains unchanged with 2 GB RAM and 16 GB expandable storage combo.
It addition to the new upgrades that we mentioned, the Galaxy A5 (2016) is also given a larger battery with 2900 mAh non-removable fast-charging battery. Like the Galaxy A7, the Galaxy A5 also boots Android 5.1 (Lollipop). It weighs around 155 grams and measures 144.8 x 71.0 x 7.3mm, that’s a bit thicker and heavier than the last year’s Galaxy A5 which is understandably due to the increase in the display size as well as the larger battery present inside. The Galaxy A5 also sport a fingerprint sensor for online transactions and device security and supports Samsung Pay.
The handset sports a 13 Megapixel main camera with OIS feature as well and the 5 Megapixel on the front for Selfies and high-resolution video calls. Both imaging modules on the Galaxy A5 comes with an f/1.9 aperture which helps take brighter images.
Galaxy A3

The affordable Galaxy A3 brings premium design and build to budget conscious customers with a 4.7-inch super AMOLED display and 720p HD resolution. While the two larger devices does have a significant internal upgrades, the Galaxy A3 otherwise remained on the lighter side of things with the same 4-core processor and a humble 1.5 GB of RAM. Storage remains at 16 GB in capacity which can also be expanded through a microSD card.
Staying with the trend in mobile imaging capabilities, the Galaxy A3 also comes with a 13 Megapixel main camera but lacks the OIS feature found on the Galaxy A5 and A7. The front however features the same 5 Megapixel shooter as the other and both camera features the same f/1.9 aperture for a little brighter images.
To finish off on what is already known as a number of lacking features that Galaxy A3 is having compared to its bigger siblings, the small handset is also not having the fingerprint sensor which one of the deciding factor when getting either of these three devices. But for a day-to-day activity with users not particular with technology and wanted something that does things the way they wanted their device would do then the Galaxy A3 is already a good bargain for a basic handset. The handset comes with a 2300 mAh battery and runs Android 5.1 (Lollipop).
