The Galaxy Z Fold3 is the third generation of the series and Samsung brought along IPX8 on the device for water resistance and with the notable absence of the Galaxy Note series, the Galaxy Z Fold3 will be the new Note as it finally gets to support the Samsung S Pen.

The new foldable device comes with a 7.6-inch foldable Dynamic AMOLED 2X display with 120Hz refresh rate, HDR10+ support and 1200nits of peak brightness. It cover display measures 6.2 inches and is a Dynamic AMOLED 2X display as well with 120Hz refresh rate and is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass Victus.

Interesting about the new Galaxy Z Fold3 is the fact that it features the new Under Display camera making the device the first Samsung device to incorporate such feature. This camera is only 4MP though and is meant to casual video calls and such. At the cover display however is a regular 10MP sensor that sits on a punch hole and this should make a better picture for Selfies.

The main camera module on the Galaxy Z Fold3 is the same as its predecessor. The sensors are all in 12MP with the Wide-angle camera as its main and features Dual Pixel AF and OIS. Together with the main sensor is the Ultra Wide camera and a Telephoto lens which now has OIS. Protecting these sensors is Corning Gorilla Glass Victus for scratch resistance.

The Galaxy Z Fold3 runs on Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 that is paired to a 12GB of RAM and UFS 3.1 storage of either 256GB or the beefy 512GB. On first boot, the device comes with One UI 3.5 under Android 11.

With the new Galaxy Z Fold3, Samsung is making foldable devices even more durable with the use of Armor Aluminum frame and the protective panel for the inner display has be improved to withstand daily beat up knowing that it finally takes an S Pen for input.

About the S Pen, the Galaxy Z Fold3 supports the S Pen Pro and there’s the new S Pen Fold Edition. The latter is a regular S Pen but still does everything what the pen does including gestures and precise 1.5mmm tip with low latency for natural feeling while writing or sketching. The former on the other hand comes with Bluetooth which you can use it as a remote to. While the Galaxy Z Fold3 doesn’t have the slot for the S Pen, it does have an accessory that holds it which is sold separately.

The new Samsung Galaxy Z Fold3 is available in three color variants including: Phantom Black, Phantom Silver and Phantom Green. The new foldable device is now available for pre-order with a starting price of 1,799 Euros.
