Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge: The Ultimate Slim Flagship Redefining Thinness
Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge
The idea of a slim phone in the smartphone market has captivated users for years, and as we move forward—nearly two decades since smartphones first debuted—devices are getting slimmer and slimmer. Samsung has always been known for its iconic phone designs, but this year, the company is taking the challenge of thinness to the extreme with the new Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge.
Teased for months, the Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge is all about thinness, measuring just 5.8mm. While it may not be as thin as the Oppo Find N5 when unfolded, it’s still incredibly slim compared to most bar phones. However, there’s a caveat: in order to achieve this slim profile, compromises had to be made, and the battery had to be reduced to just 3,900mAh.
For modern, AI-driven smartphone standards, this battery capacity is significantly below what we’d expect from a flagship device. Still, Samsung promises that the phone will charge up to 55% in about 30 minutes with its 55W charger, though you’ll need to purchase that separately. Wireless charging is also supported if that’s your preferred method.

The Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge is built around a 6.7-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X display, boasting a QHD+ resolution, a dynamic 1-120Hz refresh rate, and protection from Corning Gorilla Glass Ceramic 2.

Like its siblings, the Galaxy S25 Edge is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy, paired with 12GB of RAM and available in either 256GB or 512GB of storage. It runs Android 15 out of the box, with One UI 7 on top. Of course, you’ll get every AI feature that is available for Samsung devices at the moment.
Another sacrifice Samsung made with the S25 Edge is in the camera department. While previous models in the series have offered multiple sensors, the Edge only features two cameras on the back. The main sensor is a 200MP lens with an f/1.7 aperture and optical image stabilization (OIS). There’s also a 12MP ultra-wide lens with an f/2.2 aperture, which doubles as a macro shooter. For selfies, the front-facing camera is a 12MP sensor.
Feature-wise, the Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge has a titanium frame and an IP68 rating for water and dust resistance. All the expected connectivity options are present, including Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 5.4, GPS, NFC, and USB 3.2 Type-C. It also includes an in-display ultrasonic fingerprint sensor and support for Samsung DeX.

The Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge comes in three colors: Titanium Jet Black, Titanium Silver, and Titanium Icy Blue. It’s now available for pre-order, starting at $1,099 for the base variant. All pre-orders for the base model will receive a free upgrade to 512GB of storage, and Samsung is also offering trade-in deals.
The new Galaxy S25 Edge will be available in stores starting May 30.
