The start of 2020 are full of surprises thanks to competition. For Realme fans, this quarter hits big as the company unleashed the new Realme X50 5G. It one of the few new devices to sport high-end specs for the mid-range market.

High-end in a sense that most features were only found in expensive devices before but things do spread quite easily in the mobile market that technology gets less and less expensive as they’re improved that they would eventually make into other less expensive and affordable devices.
The Realme X50 comes with a large 6.57-inch IPS LCD display and it features a 120Hz refresh rate and a dual-punch hole for the front-facing camera. None can argue the beauty of high-refresh rates on a display but an obstruction like a punch-hole on it is a little bunker.
beneath the shell, the new handset is running on Qualcomm Snapdragon 765G that’s integrated with a 5G modem. There’s a plenty of configurations from including a 6GB, 8GB or a whopping 12GB of RAM and a choice between 128GB or the 256GB internal storage.

For imaging, the Realme X50 is said to compete directly with the Xiaomi Redmi K30. On the back, there’s the 64 Megapixel primary sensor with f/1.8 Aperture lens and is joined by 12 Megapixel Telephoto camera, an 8 Megapixel Ultra-wide and a 2 Megapixel sensor with Macro lens. The dual-punch hole on the front also includes a regular 16 Megapixel shooter accompanied by an 8 Megapixel UltraWide-angle camera.
What powers the new Realme X50 is its built-in 4200 mAh embedded battery which supports a fast 30W VOOC 4.0 for wired charging. It’s one of the first devices from Realme that’s driven by Android 10 as the base operating system for its own proprietary ColorOS 7.0 Realme UI.
The new Realme X50 5G is now available in China starting at CNY2,499 for its 8GB/128GB version, and up to CNY2.999 for its top of the line 12GB RAM with 256GB of storage.
