Just few days after ASUS launched the new Zenfone 2 in Taiwan, People are wondering as to when ASUS Philippines will make the handsets available in the country. Numerous speculations points to a possible April or probably later in June would be the possible dates for the local availability of the handset, but if we’re to take the new information heavily which seems to have come from a pretty reliable source, it would seem that the rumors are quite in range with the dates given.

Sources close to ASUS Philippines claims that the new Zenfone 2 devices will be made available in the country around the first week of May and the also seem to suggests that not all Zenfone 2 variants will be made available in the country for some obvious reasons. But the high-end variants that includes a full HD display and 4GB of RAM is more that possible to become available when the local launch of the handsets kicks off.

ASUS has been quite successful with its Zenfone line of devices in the country. In fact, more and more people are making the switch from the commonly and widely available handsets from competing products in exchange for the more affordable but very dependable hardware from ASUS. The Zenfone 5 has become popular among mobile users with its balances specs and size that both powerful and handy, however the new entry-level Zenfone 2 with 5-inch HD display is believed to be synonymous with the currently Zenfone 5 in the market and many experts believe that ASUS will continue to sell the Zenfone 5 despite the fact that a newer handset is readily available to take its place so for the meantime, we assume that the entry-level Zenfone 2 won’t be available in the Philippines at launch. Still, things will be decided with the larger mid-range model of the new handsets if the company will make the device available in the Philippine market.

The ASUS Zenfone 2 high-end models however will definitely be available in the local scene, and as our sources has suggested, the high-end Zenfone 2’s will replace the current Zenfone 6 in the Philippines and that will also mean that it would go or beyond the price of the existing Zenfone 6. It was also speculated that the price could range from 10k and up to 13K but some believe that it could be more than that as duties and taxes would add in.

ASUS however did not comment on any rumors at the moment but with the planned regional launch to go off in Jakarta, Indonesia by April 20-22 this year, the estimation of a local arrival of the handset around on first week of May will be more likely than later.
