Oppo finally announced the Oppo R7 and the bezelles Oppo R7 Plus handsets

Oppo might not be that big of a player in mobile devices but lately as they get closer to unveil something interesting for the market, the brand itself has built a reputation lately on the internet after rumors came out that the Chinese device manufacturer will be bringing a bezelless handset. As it turned out, that didn’t happened but instead the company got some little tricks on its sleeves that made the display an edge closer to the sides, as it if there was no bezels on it.

Celebrating it’s 10th year in the electronics industry, Oppo on Wednesday officially announced two new handsets the R7 and the R7 Plus. Both of which are designed to cater the middle class segment with a remarkable design and craftsmanship while bringing high-end specs to the mid-range market.

When the hype is on for the R7, many people believed that the upcoming device in the series would only be the known bezelless handset until new leaks brough followers into confusion but Oppo intentionally released an official render images of the handsets which details the instead of releasing just one device for the targeted market, why not make them two and the users will decide what works with them. So Oppo now has given users the choice of what size and features od the new R7 would they really want.

Oppo R7

The Oppo R7 is the standard-bearer of the two announced devices and comes with a 5.0-inch Super AMOLED display having a 1080p full-HD resolution with a 2.5D glass coating. At its core, the R7 comes with Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 processor with 3 GB of RAM and 16 GB of storage space. For users who wanted more room for their stuff, Oppo has included a microSD slot which takes up to 128 GB of microSD cards. Despite the existence of the more recent Android 5 Lollipop, Running the show for the R7 is Oppo’s Color OS 2.1 based on Android 4.4 (KitKat), but we’d hope that the company would at least upgrade the OS of the new handset as it is capable to support Lollipop system requirements.

Equipped with high-resolution cameras, the Oppo R7 should disappoint its users as it comes with 13 Megapixel main camera with LED flash and a f/2.2 aperture, on the front is a capable 8 Megapixel shooter which should be more than enough for users who loves to take a selfie or converge through video call in high-quality.

As standard in unibody design, the All metal body of the Oppo R7 also houses its 2320 mAh non-removable battery and features VOOC Fast-charging technology that allows the handset to store up  to 75% of juice in just 30 minutes.

Oppo R7 Plus

As the name suggest, The plus within the R7 Plus is obviously its big screen with what everyone believes a bezelless display and some added features not found on the standard variant of the series. Most of the specs from the R7 are found on the R7 Plus with minor difference.

To start with, The R7 Plus comes with a large 6-inch display that goes edge-to-edge from the handset as pronounce a virtually zero-bezel design, though the screen is larger compared to the R7 but unfortunately they both come with the same display resolution which for the meticulous, it not that satisfying  to the taste, we’re guessing that the design of the handset would at least divert the attention from the screen quality to the overall hardware design itself. For the more common user however, the display on the R7 Plus should be desirable enough for them to love and live with it.

The R7 also sets itself far more advance and up to date with the latest technology in mobile devices as it comes with a built-in finger-print scanner on the back which has become a common commodity lately especially with high-end flagship devices. The inclusion of a fingerprint scanner signifies Oppo’s interest in bringing a more solid-built, security oriented features to safer online transactions and a more secure device overall.

As it comes with a bigger dimension, Oppo got more room to fill in that’s why they have managed to include a larger 4100 mAh of non-removable battery to extend more life and fun with every day’s task.

The Oppo R7 and R7 Plus is now up for pre-order with international fans be able to get the handset through Oppo’s official store at oppostyle.com. As for the prices, the Oppo R7 is tag at $400 while the Oppo R7 Plus comes in at $480. Though this prices reflects the Dollar equivalent of Chinese prices of the handsets, we’d expect to be closer to these prices for the international models as well.
