OnePlus Nord to use Google Phone, Messages, and Duo apps

OnePlus is about to release a budget smartphone device called the OnePlus Nord and will be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 765G and hopes that it will be a step in a right direction for fans of the brand with a tight budget.

The upcoming device is a subject to rumors and leaks and the latest, that is before it gets official, is that the company will rely on Google Messages, Google Phone and Google Duo apps to manage calls and messages for OnePlus Nord users.

Unlike with other OnePlus devices, its move to rely on Google apps has its advantages as Google’s own offerings does come with features that you won’t normally see on other alternatives.

From a standpoint, Google Messages handles SMS messages pretty well and the fact that the app supports RCS is something you’ll need if you are all about extended messaging experience. The Phone app is straightforward and features call recording which is by the way one of the most sought out feature in Android.

With SD765G at it’s arsenal, the OnePlus Nord is a 5G device at launch with its 8GB and 128GB storage, it should be capable enough most of your major mobile apps without a hitch.

The new OnePlus Nord is expected to launch over live-streaming on July 21, 2020.
