Nubia Z70S Ultra Brings Pro-Level Camera Features and Bold Design to Flagship Line
Nubia Z70S Ultra Debuts with Upgraded Camera Hardware, Drops Key Feature from Predecessor

When Nubia launched the Z70 Ultra late last year, it was a device worthy of praise. Not only did it sport an all-display front, but its camera system was also top-notch.
Now, Nubia follows up with the new Z70S Ultra. It features upgraded camera hardware, but also drops one of the key selling points of its predecessor.
The Z70S Ultra comes equipped with a 50MP OmniVision Light Fusion 900 sensor, which is slightly larger than the Sony IMX906 sensor used in the original Z70 Ultra. However, Nubia has replaced the variable lens of the previous model with a fixed f/1.7 aperture 35mm-equivalent lens.

For the telephoto camera, there’s a 64MP 1/2″ sensor with a 70mm-equivalent f/2.48 lens and OIS. A 50MP ultra-wide camera with a 122° field of view and a 13mm f/2.0 lens rounds out the setup. It includes autofocus, making it suitable for macro photography as well.
With its photography-focused hardware, Nubia has added a dedicated shutter key, allowing users to launch the camera app straight from the lock screen—enhancing that “photographer’s camera” experience.
Since mobile photography can quickly drain battery life, the Z70S Ultra comes with a large 6,600mAh battery and supports 80W wired charging. Unfortunately, just like its predecessor, wireless charging is still not supported.

The phone retains the same 6.85-inch OLED display as the Z70 Ultra, featuring a 144Hz refresh rate, 10-bit BOE Q9+ panel, and 100% DCI-P3 color coverage. The resolution is flagship-level, albeit unconventional, at 1,216 x 2,688 pixels. It also gains upgraded screen protection with Gorilla Glass 7i.
Aside from the new camera hardware and battery, most other components remain unchanged from last year’s model. All connectivity options and additional features from the Z70 Ultra carry over to the Z70S Ultra.

Under the hood, the phone is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 “Elite”, with up to 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM and up to 1TB of UFS 4.0 storage. For those with a bigger budget, there’s even a 24GB RAM variant available.
The back of the phone features glass with nanatexturing to create a unique “calfskin” pattern. It also boasts IP68/IP69 ratings for water and dust resistance. Impressively, all of these enhancements fit within the same 164.3 x 77.1 x 8.6mm dimensions, and it still weighs 228 grams.
But that’s not all…
Alongside the Z70S Ultra, Nubia unveiled an innovative photography kit accessory designed specifically for the device. While the kit may look a bit complicated to assemble, the result is stunning—it gives the phone a classic camera aesthetic, complete with a dedicated zoom dial, camera shutter button, and a set of functional lenses that go beyond just looks.
The new Nubia Z70S Ultra is now available on ZTEMall.com in Twilight and Melting Gold color options. The base model starts at 4,600 Yuan (approximately $630 USD). Nubia is planning a global launch on May 13, with a campaign page already in place for the event.
