Nokia Philippines announced the availability of Nokia Lumia 930 in the Philippines. The Lumia 930 is truly the Lumia 920’s successor and is Nokia’s latest flagship device that features a large 5-inch full-HD display, high-end specs and it comes with Windows Phone 8.1 OS out-of-the-box.
The Lumia 930 is basically the global version of Verizon’s Lumia ICON in the US. Its features and every bit of construction from the metal chassis down to the internal components. The only difference between the two perhaps the market where they are released and the model name that they are carrying.
In terms of hardware, the Lumia 930 features a superb and well-built construction. The matte finish gives the device a professional feel with well-cut sharp corners that added aggressiveness and the sense of elegance. The 5-inch display sits perfectly well on the aluminum frame with a curve layer of Gorilla Glass 3 that covers the entire front.
Inside is a powerful Snapdragon 800 Quad-core CPU running at 2.2GHz paired with Adreno 320 GPU and 2GB of RAM for the more demanding apps and a smooth and lag free Windows Phone experience. It also got a 32 GB of internal storage but unfortunately as with other high-end Lumia devices, the Lumia 930 missed to include a memory card support which was supposedly need for people to store more multimedia contents unto their Lumia 930 device. But Microsoft will have to augment this limitation with a free cloud storage with at least 7 GB of storage from Microsoft’s cloud service OneDrive.
The software inside the Lumia 930 is Windows Phone 8.1 which is a significant upgrade in functionality and features from the original released of Window Phone 8. Users looking for a unified notification system, beautiful Start screen, best virtual assistant, full office for mobile integration and able to play Xbox games on phones will find the new WP8.1 must have.
Previously, the Windows Phone ecosystem has been plagued by missing popular apps for other platforms, but Microsoft then quickly responded from the apps that its platform is missing a released a home-baked version of those popular apps that users used to work with non-Windows phone device. Today however that wont be the case as the apps on the platform grows day by day with more and more developers porting their apps to Windows Phone.
PureView equipped handsets are definitely one of the best camera phones existing today and the Lumia 930 is here to join the crowd. It’s 20 Megapixel autofocus camera takes not only beautiful photographs but stunning videos as well. It comes with a dual LED flash to assist in low-light conditions, but even with the LED flash off, the Lumia 930 still takes brightly lit photos. Users can then use the Nokia Storyteller app to share photos online or share them with various social networking sites online.
