Would it be nice if we could understand what our pet dogs really mean when they woof? That’s what the new Indiegogo project has in mind with “NMW: No More Woof”. As FOX News reports, the project is initiated by the Scandinavian Nordic Society for Inventions and Discovery (NSID) who recently surpass its $10,000 crowdfunding by almost $5,000 to create a device designed to translate dogs thoughts into human understandable English and other languages.
Though the project is at its early stage, the team behind the ambitious project has already two working prototypes and is currently under testing with its backers. One of these devices the NMW micro cost $65 and can understand two to three dog thought patterns while a the standard NMW devices could distinguish four or more patterns and is priced at $300.
The device developed by NSID mimics a large headphone attached to the dogs’ head and encases a electroencephalogram (EEG) and hooked up to a micro processing unit then a loudspeaker to help the dog talk. At this point, the EEG device can only detect dog thought patterns associated with tiredness, hunger and curiosity.
The standard version of NMW device supports firmware upgrades via a microUSB when new thought patterns is available from NSID’s continuing and extensive research.
Dogs wearing the NMW device can speak English, while other languages such as Mandarin, French and Spanish is currently under development and is expected to be available sometime in April next year.
