The new Nexus 5 may be a step further when compared to its predecessor and not to mention how it’s internals are vastly improved over the Nexus 4. But things are not all perfect as the new device encountered some problems which disappoints early adopters.

Looming problems with a fix battery, the Nexus 5 is also having problems with its camera, but that would be augmented by a developer from XDA Developers.  Jishnu Sir an independent developer has created a temporary camera patch to fix what’s wrong on the device before the official patch from Google becomes available.

Though this caused a lot of disappointments to the users, it’s a relief that the problem can easily be fixed through software tweak and not as problematic as having a hardware issue. When the software is flashed to the Nexus 5, the new camera app will add or improve the following:

Sound Recording now in Stereo with the secondary Mic.

Faster Focusing for the camera.

Front Camera also records 720P Videos@ 20 Mb/s.

Front camera Audio Bitrate@ 192000 Kb/s.

AntiBanding default set to 50Hz

Focus Range Adjusted.

Enhanced Smooth Zoom.

Turned Edge Enhancement ON.

There is a risk when apply the patch though, The patch itself requires a unlocked bootloader which means that when flashed to the device, all warranties will be void at this point and that would hold some to install the patch.

The patch developer sets an agreement not to be liable if it causes damages to the devices when the patch is installed but it was also noted at its thread when a boot loop occurs, users may install the stock firmware and let the developer informed regarding the problem so he may address them as soon as possible.
