If you’ve missed waterproof feature of the Galaxy S5 from your new Galaxy S6 then Samsung does have something for than in the upcoming variant of the Galaxy S6. The Galaxy S6 Active like its previous generation cousins will definitely have its waterproof feature with a rugged chassis designed to withstand the elements and situations either from normal to harsh environments.

Currently, Samsung haven’t made any official announcement of the Galaxy S6 Active but a tipster was good enough to take photos of the Alleged Galaxy S6 Active device in the flesh. As always, it will have a seemingly rugged construction with all the function keys staying as they are with the previous edition of the handset. Additionally, The home button for the Galaxy S6 Active is expected to not include any fingerprint sensor or any visible hints for that matter, so it seems like we’ll have to miss that one out with the upcoming handset but other notable features such as the high-resolution 5.1-inch display, its impressive cameras and the heart rate sensor from its flagship variant are still intact. The speaker grill was also moved to the back of the handset as expected from the modified housing of the handset.

According to the source of this leak, The Galaxy S6 Active will have a model number of SM-G890A and houses a larger and more spacious battery pack with 3500 mAh in capacity. The unannounced handset is also expected to feature the same high-end specs from its flagship brother as is expected to include a 14nm Exynos 7420 Chipset, a 5.1-inch 2K sAMOLED display, the high-resolution 16 Megapixel main camera on the back and the 5 Megapixel camera on the front, as well as the heart rate sensor on the back.

Samsung has kept its silence despite the number of rumors and leaks surrounding the alleged handset but we are expecting for more details to come out soon and hopefully sooner we’ll hear about it straight from Samsung itself.
