Selected to host the first of Android One devices in the Philippines, local mobile phone company MyPhone unveils the new MyPhone Uno – one of the two flagship carriers for the Android One initiative in the country. Unlike the more rectangular look of the CM: One. MyPhone’s approach with the new Uno is provide more curves and a different build materials to the table.

Like the new Cherry Mobile One, the MyPhone Uno is also regulated to conforms with the standards that Google has implements for its Android One devices. The two flagship devices from two different manufacturers may be different from the names and designs, the internals mostly speaks otherwise.

To start with, the MyPhone Uno features the same 4.5-inch display as the CM: One and is powered by a 1.3 GHz Quad-core processor with 1 GB of RAM. Unlike from Cherry Mobile, MyPhone only includes 4 GB of internal storage space on the device but compensated with a memory expansion option which supports up to 32 GB micro-SD cards.

As part of the entertainment and multimedia package, MyPhone Uno packs a 5-Megapixel main camera coupled with LED flash in a circular and eye-catching aluminum-finish camera module on the back. While the front is a 2-Megapixel shooter that provides high-quality and high-resolution video calls and crisp selfie images. Users can also enjoy the built-in FM Radio in addition to a number of music and video playback apps available.

As standard, there’s a Dual-SIM ports with Dual-standby capabilities and supports 3G/HSPA+ and 2G/GSM wireless networks. For added options, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0 and GPS completes the list of connectivity options that the new Uno has to offer. Together with Smart and Sun Cellular, owners of the new MyPhone Uno will enjoy a free Over-The-Air (OTA) updates for the Android operating system and a free downloads of apps from the Google Play store for 6 months with no extra and hidden charges on monthly bills.

As Google explicitly pointed out affordability for Android One devices, the new MyPhone Uno would be priced on par with its partner the Cherry Mobile One, though there’s still no final pricing for the new MyPhone Uno as of yet, we assumed that it would be around the same as the CM: One as they have virtually the same universal specs the Google have regulated over these devices. But take notice of the internal storage that the new Uno has which is also a price differentiator in a sense. Despite the shortcomings however, MyPhone Uno is priced at 4,599.00 Php and will be available to customers on Friday.
