MyPhone officially launched the new RIO 2 and RIO 2 Lite

 MyPhone’s highly successful RIO line of devices is having a successor with none other than the new RIO 2. Following the RIO’s footsteps, the new RIO 2 is also available is various funky color options together with a fully laminated 5.0-inch IPS display and with the latest Android 5.0 Lollipop out of the box.  Like the first generation RIO, the RIO 2 is also coming in two variant: the standard RIO 2 and the RIO 2 Lite. Both of which does have a stunning and large displays with the same color options to fit your personality.

The standard MyPhone RIO 2 comes with a large 5.0-inch IPS LCD display with a full lamination of Corning Gorilla Glass 3. Under the skin, MyPhone includes a 1.3 GHz Quad-core CPU together with 1 GB of RAM. Like most of our local handsets today, the new RIO 2 also comes with a large 8 GB internal storage space with an expansion slot that accepts up to 64 GB of microSD cards.

Even at a very affordable price, MyPhone still managed to include an updated 8 Megapixel Sony camera sensor with Blue Glass layer and coupled with LED flash. The front also got the needed upgrade that bumps the camera to 5 Megapixels.

But the most noticeable difference between the RIO and the new RIO 2 is the OS itself that users are always facing every time they use the device. unlike the RIO, the RIO 2 comes with the latest Android 5.0 Lollipop operating system from Google. Now also new to RIO 2 is the large 2800 mAh battery that will surely keep you up all day.

RIO 2 Lite

The RIO 2 Lite on the other hand is the smaller sibling of the standard RIO 2 with a few differences in specs. It comes in a small package so it has a 4.7-inch IPS Display but without the Gorilla Glass protection, users will get a standard transparent polycarbonate front that houses the LCD display. There’s no need to differentiate the processing power of the Lite version over the standard version of the RIO 2 as they have exactly the same processor, amount of RAM and the expandable internal storage within them.

For mobile camera enthusiast, The cameras on the RIO 2 Lite has been trimmed down to compensate with the cost but still provides a basic 8 Megapixel main camera sensor with a 2 Megapixel camera on the front. Though it might be a down-played version over the standard RIO 2 variant, the RIO 2 Lite still captures good quality images. The handset also runs on the latest version of Android 5.0 Lollipop but comes with a smaller 2120 mAh battery.

The RIO 2 and the RIO 2 Lite are priced at Php 5,499.00 and Php 4,599.00 respectively and will be available in all MyPhone stores, Kiosks and partner retail outlets nationwide. Globe also offers these two new handsets for free for a 1-year contract with free 100 MB of wireless data a month.
