My|phone launched Rio Fun, 5-inch device for only 2,999

If Cherry Mobile have the Emerald, My|phone also have the new Rio Fun. Priced at the same level as the latest CM offering, the My|Phone Rio Fun does mirror the same 5-inch display that its older brother the Rio may have but they noticeably different on the inside. Below are some points of what we know so far about the new Rio Fun.

Priced at 2,999 Php, the new My|phone Rio Fun packs a 5-inch touch screen display, a 1.3 GHz MediaTek dual-core processor with 512 MB ram, a Mali-400 GPU, no info regarding its internal storage but it might be around 4 GB at best which can be expanded with microSD card of up to 32 GB, Dual SIM support but only supports 2G connectivity, WiFi and Bluetooth wireless connection, 3 Megapixel back camera and a VGA camera on the front. It also packs a rather small battery at 1,800 mAh and is powered by Android 4.2 (Jelly Bean).

From the user’s point of view, the new Rio Fun may not appeal the crowd but with its very low price it may win some considerations. But take note that it cannot go beyond GPRS connectivity, so if users want a basic touchscreen phone that prefers WiFi connectivity for internet browsing and the likes rather that wirelessly through mobile carriers, then the new Rio Fun may very well win at this point. And with the smaller battery pack, just make sure to bring that charger more often.
