Firefox-Windows8

Mozilla announced today that they are pulling the plug of Firefox for Windows 8 Metro interface. Firefox Vice President Johnathan Nightingale sent out memos to the development team to halt the development of the browser which he deemed the release of version 1.0 would be a mistake as the browser had a little user base to test for real world scenarios.

Firefox can actually release version 1.0 of the browser but Nightingale points to specific key factors that would result on delivering a product which have not been tested thoroughly by active users citing that if they will release version 1.0 that “would be a mistake”  and would result to a product that is buggy and would require too much of repair work.

It was a difficult decision for Mozilla according to Nightingale but they have to prioritize products that would reach out a wider audience. But there could be another chance for the browser to take off according to the Vice President, they are only waiting for the time to come when users are flocking  on  the latest Windows OS that would provide enough reason why the company should pursue its development on the currently Windows 8 OS (that is if you compare that to Windows XP and 7’s adoption rate).
