Moto360 smartwatch makes a comeback: Same design, upgraded internals

Motorola was one of the pioneers of Android Wear smartwatches way back 2015. It run a good show until it decided to stop producing them a year after with the second-generation Moto360. But brand will make its appearance back later this year with the version of Moto360 but the thing is, the revival won’t come from Motorola itself but from another company.

A company that goes by the name eBuyNow seems to get the license to resurrect the Moto360 line of smartwatches. It will use the design from the second-gen Moto360 but with an upgraded internals.

The upcoming Moto360 comes in stainless steel construction with a 1.2-inch OLED display at 360 x 360 resolutions. It features a mechanical crown for easy UI navigation and has a Always-on display. The smartwatch will be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 3100 processor with 1GB of RAM and 8GB of internal storage.

Feature-wise, the new smartwatch is expected to include a built-in heartrate sensor, GPS, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.2 and NFC. It should be compatible with Android devices with from version 5.0 and later or with iOS 10 and newer.

It will be water-resistant up to 3ATM, With that said, the smartwatch will include an embedded 355 mAh battery with quick charging support that should fill the battery bar from zero to a hundred under an hour.

The new Moto360 smartwatch will be priced at $350 and will be available in December in Steel Gray, Rose Gold or Phantom Black.
