When Cherry Mobile launched the new Aqua S9 Max, We thought, this isn’t just one single phone release in the series and there will be a series of other devices in the lineup. So it is. Cherry Mobile is ready to make a full swing for its 2020 year-ender release with a few more models for the new Aqua line.
Cherry mobile has three other more phones ready for the Aqua S9 series with the Aqua S9 lite, Aqua S9 and the Aqua Infinity.
the Aqua S9 lite comes with a large 6.0-inch teardrop-notch display and is powered by a Unisoc SC9863A 8-core processor with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of expandable storage and a 3,000mAh battery.
The back has a iPhone 10-esque camera module with dual-cameras having an 8 Megapixel primary sensor with 2 Megapixel depth sensor. On the front is a 8 Megapixel Selfie shooter that resides on the notch.
The base model Aqua S9 has a larger 6.52-inch teardrop-notch display with the same processor as the lite variant. It however has 4GB of RAM and a 64GB expandable storage and a hefty 5,000mAh battery.
For imaging, the Aqua S9 has four cameras on back with a 13 Megapixel main sensor together with a 5 Megapixel depth sensor, a 2 Megapixel monochrome and a 2 Megapixel AI camera. For Selfies, the device also has a 8 Megapixel camera sitting on the notch.
The third from the upcoming lineup is the Aqua Infinity, the smartphone is a better spec’d of the three with a smaller footprint as the base Aqua S9. The device is powered by a MediaTek Helio P60 with 8GB of RAM and a expandable 128GB of storage and a 4,000mAh battery.
The camera module on the back is somewhat familiar to the Mate 30 series from Huawei but the similarities abruptly ends there. It comes with a 12 Megapixel main sensor and a confusing array of supporting sensors. According to the leak, the Aqua Infinity comes with a 20 Megapixel depth sensor which is rather unlikely, but if that’s the case, it could be one of the unique feature of the handset and will be one of the first to incorporate such number of pixels on a depth sensor. The rest is a 2 Megapixel monochrome and a 2 Megapixel AI camera.
All these three devices runs on Android 10 however, these devices aren’t 5G ready, so you are stuck with 4G connectivity which isn’t bad at this point since the 5G infrastructure in the country is not fully implemented yet and most of our mobile internet is still running on 4G network.
