Mixed Fuel Price Outlook Next Week: Gasoline Set for Rollback, Diesel and Kerosene Face Sharp Increases

As fuel price adjustments continue to reflect developments in the global oil market, Filipino motorists are facing a mixed outlook for next week’s pump prices.

Industry forecasts indicate that gasoline prices could see a rollback ranging from 1.50 to 2.50 Pesos per liter, offering some relief to private vehicle owners and commuters who have been grappling with elevated fuel costs in recent months.

However, the anticipated reduction in gasoline prices may be offset by substantial increases in other petroleum products. Diesel prices are expected to rise between 3.00 to 4.00 Pesos per liter, while kerosene could register an even steeper increase of 5.00 to 6.00 Pesos per liter.

The projected adjustments come as the Philippines remains under a state of energy crisis, prompting the Department of Energy (DOE) to closely monitor and regulate weekly fuel price movements to mitigate the impact of global market volatility on consumers and businesses.

Analysts attribute the contrasting price movements to fluctuations in international refined fuel prices, supply concerns in key oil-producing regions, and changing demand patterns across global markets. While gasoline benchmarks have softened in recent trading sessions, diesel and kerosene products continue to experience upward pressure due to tighter supply conditions.

For transport operators, logistics companies, and industries heavily reliant on diesel, the expected increase may lead to higher operating expenses. Meanwhile, households and businesses that depend on kerosene for lighting and other uses could also feel the impact of the projected price hike.

Motorists are advised that these figures remain estimates and may still change depending on the final trading results before local oil companies announce their official price adjustments. The final fuel price movements are expected to be confirmed at the start of the coming week and will take effect the following day.
